Exploration. Ferocity. Power.

Eightfold Path is back and live for 2005. The San Francisco Bay Area quintet has returned after a timely hiatus of member changes and directional struggles from the past year, adding import guitar player David Labao from the Philippines. Following the surprising success of their 2003 EP "timeandplace", the band covered plenty of ground touring all over California, developing and retaining a constantly growing fan base. The guys have devoted everything to getting their music out the people, gathering press, representation, national online distribution, obtaining a #1 single "Life in a Flash" on 92 KSJO's radio show "Homegrown", and much more. In the live circuit, the band has received opportunities to open for nationals including Trapt, Fingertight, Depswa, Hopesfall, The Beautiful Mistake, Everytime I Die, Embodyment, Stavesacre, Himsa, The Agony Scene, As I Lay Dying, and others.

Spending the last few months writing in the studio, Eightfold Path is getting closer to a summer record release. What can you expect from the new material? Tracks like "The White of Morning" create lush landscapes that leap into the depths of consciousness, taking notes from melodic space rock geniuses The Mars Volta, Dredg, Cave In, Failure, and even Coldplay. On the opposite extreme, "Here With the Ghosts" demolishes everything in its path, twisting and turning with the savage aural fury of bands such as Between the Buried and Me, Mastodon, or Blood Has Been Shed. The band has always steered clear of pop formulas and diversified their sound, and the new record will certainly be a continuing example of that philosophy. For fans new and old, give us your hearts, souls, and minds, or at the very least your ears: Ready, Set, Go.
