No-one can say they didn't see it coming. We certainly knew it was. And some would say it's completely overdue. Website updates? Maybe every 3 months. Shows? Not even as often as that, and at the same place. Recordings? Yeah f*ckin' right!
I don't think I can offer up much of an explanation. And maybe we owe it to the people who actually liked our music. Or maybe we don't. The fact is, 8fp was something that, as cool as it was, was too much for us. We must have partially written at least 10 songs, and once we got to a certain point in it, decided it wasn't Eightfold Path. We held out hope that we could figure out what Eightfold Path was. But it wasn't going to happen, and we couldn't force it, or kid ourselves any longer.
After our final performance as 8fp on October 28th, the only time we're likely to play 8fp songs is to have them recorded. It shouldn't take too much effort. But I'm pretty sure I've said that before.
So what now? A fresh start hopefully. That's about it. New name, new sound. Less burden. We'll see. Thanks to all those who supported us through all the BS. You know who you are.

Eightfold Path would like to apologize to those who attended the show only to find out we were not playing. The, very strange, reason we were unable to play is simply; we couldn't get to the venue. Anyone who knows where we practice, knows its out in the boondocks of the east bay, with one road in and out of a valley of houses, including the location of our studio. Sometime between 5:30 and 6:00pm, when we were loading up and ready to leave to the venue, the power was lost at our studio. Not thinking much of it, we left, only to be turned around halfway down the road by CHP. Apparently someone had crashed their car into a telephone pole on the road, which inturn brought down powerlines with the pole, across the only road in or out of the valley. No-one could simply "go around" the poles and "hot" powerlines, as there are steep creeks, and rain runoff on both sides of the road. Offroading it 2 miles to the main street would have been an option, had the ground not been so saturated we would surely get stuck. So we were stranded. We had hoped that it would only take an hour or so to clear the crash and the lines from the street, and still make it to the venue, albeit late, but still on-time to play. Unfortunatly, by 8pm, CHP and PG&E had both informed us it would be at least 3 hours before even power be back. And even when we checked back 3 hours later, the estimated time had been pushed back to 3 or 5am. So thankfully, our studio is also our drummers house, and we were able to sleep there and brush up on our Scrabble skills. David made it to the venue to let them know what ws going on, and Matt was able to call as well. Much thanks to our friends Scott and Greg for still going to the show and relaying our message to the other bands. We sincerely apologize, but who could have predicted such a thing to happen!
Anyways, sorry again to all, and we hope to rock a venue near you very soon
